The Story Behind BIASA
Founded in 1994 by designer and art gallerist Susanna Perini, BIASA was born from the fusion of art, culture, and a love for understated yet extraordinary fashion. Guided by the philosophy of Extraordinary Simplicity, the brand has spent over three decades redefining resort wear through collections that balance minimalism with intricate craftsmanship and bold artistic expression.
With twelve boutiques across Bali, Jakarta, and Lombok, BIASA has grown into an internationally recognized label, admired for its originality, creativity, and timeless appeal that speaks beyond fashion.
Mission & Social Responsibility
From its inception, BIASA has placed equal emphasis on fashion and social impact. Through its partnership with the Matahari Terbit Center (MTC) , the brand supports children with cerebral palsy, autism, Down syndrome, and other disabilities not only through donations but also by collaborating on handcrafted jewelry.
BIASA also partnered with Studio Sejauh on the Mata Sawah collection, dedicated to sustaining artisan communities across Java. These initiatives reflect the brand’s mission to honor tradition, foster sustainability, and contribute meaningfully to society.
Concept Behind the Collection
Every BIASA collection embodies the spirit of Extraordinary Simplicity: effortless, refined, and deeply connected to both nature and tradition. Its signature style is timeless and free-flowing, perfectly suited for tropical landscapes while maintaining a sophisticated aesthetic.
Beneath this simplicity lies rich detail inspired by Indonesian craftsmanship—batik, ikat, hand weaving, embroidery, natural dyeing, and more. The result is a dual strength: easy, versatile pieces for everyday wear, and bold, artistic statements that merge fashion with art.
More than clothing, BIASA is a dialogue between design, art, and craftsmanship—an invitation for individuals to embrace beauty, meaning, and authenticity in how they dress.
